Niklas Krütten to start at traditional race at Lonato
The traditional Winter Cup at the South Garda Circuit in Lonato will finally welcome the new kart season this coming weekend. After the first two exchanges in Adria, the young up-and-coming driver Niklas Krütten from Germany will start at the Winter cup in the still new Senior category, which takes place for the 22nd time.
The 14-year-old travels with positive memories to the modern, 1.2-km-long track, which is based only a stone´s throw from Lake Garda in North Italy. Last October, the young driver from Trier put his name in the list of the best drivers in Lonato when securing a fifth place in the legendary Trofeo delle Industrie.
Niklas has already absolved two top-class races in the fresh season in his new Senior Kart. He shown straight from the beginning at the WSK Champions Cup in Adria with a strong performance in qualifying and a podium finish in the qualification race. Terrible weather conditions marked the second race at the same track, in which the 14-year-old accumulated totally new experiences in extreme wet and sometimes chaotic conditions.
290 drivers from all around the world have put their names down in the entry list for this coming weekend, with the Winter Cup in Lonato to become one again one of the highlights of the karting season.
“Lonato is in a way the capitol of karting”, says the young driver. “Many leading manufacturers have their headquarters just around the corner. It is always a full house here. I like the track und am excited to start there.”
